The story behind e4G Precon.
About Me
I'm a cost estimator by trade, with an associates in Engineering Science. I started out on the owner's side in facilities - co-ops with the IBM Data Center, Olin Chemical, and Kraft General Foods - and from there I've rotated through the construction industry roughly every five years: architect, contractor, design firm, CM, estimating software, and facilities software.
That circuit is where Precon Tools comes from. Every role sees the same trade-offs from a different angle, and good preconstruction work depends on respecting all of them - including the owner who has to operate the building long after the project closes out.
Outside of work, I'm a husband and father of two, and we enjoy helping others including families new to the US. When I can, I'm on the water in a kayak.
What e4G Means
e4G stands for everything for God.
I don't fully understand God, but I see too much amazing design to think that He doesn't exist. e4G helps me keep a proper perspective, including stewardship.
About These Tools
e4G Precon Tools is an independent project, a small set of web-based analysis tools for preconstruction teams to develop defendable content for the benefit of the project team.
These tools are part of the broader e4G project, which also includes e4G Stewardship - personal finance tools for wise stewardship of what you've been given.
